Verena Lassnig, born 1987 in Klagenfurt, studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and has been working as a freelance artist since 2006.

Her projects take natural, organic or bodily phenomena as their starting point, translating these into conceptually cohesive bodies of work through painting, textiles, objects, installation, photography and video. Conscious material choice is an artistic principle, not merely a stance.
